Part
of what makes tubing so fun is that it can be done with minimal effort
and expenses involved. In fact, the only thing you'll need to tube in
most cases is a single flotation device whose dimensions go in line
with your body's size. With that in mind, there are a few other things
you might want to bring to the river in order to enhance your experience
and improve your safety.
Safety equipment for tubing
Some
people who don't know how to swim very well, or at all, will find that
bringing a life jacket to the Comal can be very beneficial and allow them
to have peace of mind. While there are no guarantees that your tube
will flip or that you will slide off it while on the river, it can
happen rather easily, putting you in an uncomfortable situation if you
aren't an experienced swimmer.
While tubing New Braunfels you can generally hold onto your tube for safety after dropping into
the water, it's possible that you fall into the water from such an angle
that you aren't able to reach your tube without knowing how to swim.
This can be dangerous if you are tubing in an area without good swimmers
or lifeguards present.
Some
also like bringing certain types of shoes in order to protect their
feet from rocks and similar formations throughout the river. When
floating rapidly, one's skin can become cut rather easily in certain
places of the river, and feet are constantly exposed as they are
sticking out from the tube.
Which accessories can increase your fun
Also,
a container is sometimes considered as tubing equipment as it allows
tubers to bring refreshments to the river and enjoy them for hours on
end. What's not considered tubing equipment, however, are any personal
belongings you might have, and you should always leave them somewhere
safe at the river's side in order to avoid losing them to the river.
